T H E W A T T L E R O O M
I first created The Wattle Room back in 2007 when I was awarded the National Art School's Tim Storrier and Annette Onslow Residency at Cite Internationale des Arts Paris.
The Wattle Room came into its own of a three dimensional book with a diaristic approach and each exhibition I create represents a chapter exploring landscape as personal and as a collective negotiation, responding to the world around me.
I explore themes of landscape and the environment through absurdity, using humour as a way to unsettle the familiar and reveal underlying tensions. The compositions hold contradiction, visual richness with disruption, the playful with the sincere.
My art navigates ecological and existential uncertainty, inviting reflection on how we live within a world that is both precarious and full of possibility.
